How to Register a Used Car on the NTSA Portal for Motorists.

Drivers occasionally find themselves buying used cars based on their tastes, choices, and finances.

Second-hand automobiles continue to be a practical and well-liked option for drivers despite worries about the quality and dependability of them. This is made possible by the thriving industry for replacement components and maintenance services.

In the twelve months leading up to June 2023, 62,495 automobiles were exported to Kenya, according to official data from the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

The largest purchasers of secondhand automobiles are primarily households and small businesses, indicating the market’s viability.

They will have to use the eCitizen platform’s National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) self-service page in order to register the automobiles.

This was in keeping with President William Ruto’s emphatic request that all government functions be combined into a single, standardized platform to facilitate accountability and openness.

Provides a detailed tutorial on how to use the platform to register for used cars:

Use serviceportal.ntsa.go.ke to log in.

You will be redirected to the eCitizen platform by clicking the link, where you will need to provide your ID number and password.

As part of the two-factor authentication procedure, a verification email is sent to the phone number or email address you provided during registration.

The eCitizen account homepage appears, with a list of more than 5,000 services from different Ministries, Counties, Departments, and Agencies.

To access the NTSA platform (New), scroll below.

You will be taken to the dashboard, which has the services, application history, driving points, and driving experience, after logging in.

Select Second Hand Vehicle Registration from the list of services by clicking the “services” tab.

Four areas need to be completed: General Information, Owners, Collection, and Attachments.

Enter the predicted location of the car, including the County and Sub County, on the General Information page.

Please provide the following vehicle information: body type, fuel type, transmission type, chassis number, make, model, condition, and customs entry number.

Driver side, rating (cc), tare weight, year of production, number of axles, number plate, border point, customs office, trade movement, customs value, and vehicle use are other details that need to be completed.

You will be prompted to submit documentation proving you are the vehicle’s owner after completing the transaction. Press the submit button.
